Thing 12

I think podcasting will be a valuable tool for students to create their very own podcast. Being the author of the project will allow the students to do the web research/interviewing which will center around one common theme. Students can include digital photos and video to make the podcast visually stimulating.

Story Nory and Grammar Girl are GREAT ELA resources for students. After listening to a particular podcast the students would summarize the podcast in their journal.

Thing 11

TheMathTravelTech

I am excited about the possibilities this tool will provide for the students. It will be a great meeting spot to collaborate with students on a number of math problems. Students can discuss challenging math problems and edit answers/questions that they may have.

Thing 10

A wiki I found that has inspired me to create my own wiki is the Seventh grade math wiki. The wiki provides resource books, links to other math websites, and great math videos. Creating my own wiki would provide a great forum to collaborate with students, colleagues, and parents. Similar to the seventh grade math wiki I would link parents and students with elementary math resources.

Educational Wikis can be used as a way of professional development amongst colleagues. Teachers can share resources related to MEAP, TerraNova, and other assessment data to increase student achievement.
